Stearic Acid
Stearic Acid
Stearic acid is a saturated fatty acid. It is generally more abundant in animal fat than vegetable fat, with the exception of cocoa butter and shea butter. It is used as an emollient, surfactant, and emulsifier. Stearic acid is mainly used to make cosmetic products such as shampoos and shaving creams. It softens and smooths the skin, while also helping to maintain the skin barrier.
